Video/Performance/Sound ideas so far

We decided a while ago that we were interested in the idea of using video in our performances. This morning we had a sweet little talk in bed about where we take the idea, here's how it went.

Being deeply inspired by the postmodernism exhibition, I suggested the video should be in the form of fragmentation this technique could play out one of two ideas I had:

1) showing a fragmented depiction of how popular culture has infused our relationship, showing the subversive idea of the impossibility of defining love in among the commercial idea that pop culture is at the core of our relationship (exploring books, music, advertising etc.)

2) exploring the different definitions and synonyms of love through fragmentation showing there is no unified definition of love, romance, or relationships. We would do this by showing shots/short montages based on the words conjured up through dictionary research. This could be done ironically (fully dressed and somber holding signs says 'passion') or expressively

George agreed he liked idea #2, but had thought of this idea himself in terms of performance. Where we would create a messy frantic depiction of the words using signs and props live. I agreed I liked the aesthetic this would make. We've agreed to talk through pros and cons in the coming week.

In terms of sound we are exploring creating a track, where George would engineer the music and I would write a monologue which we would speak over the sound. We love this idea! We are currently assembling a playlist of tracks for inspiration.
